And here we Go Day 2

I am writing this morning from a quaint little writing desk in the foyer of The Hotel Austria. This hotel is up a little narrow street a short walk from the city centre. It is unreal to be in a spot so full of history and history so much attached to their identity.
We were all pretty jet lagged by the time we arrived at our hotel about 3pm. It is amazing how good a shower and a change of clothes can make you feel. The big deal on for the last part of our trip was that it was in an Airbus 380-800.  I believe to be the worlds largest passenger plane. There are 2 levels so we were in row 78. For the biggest plane there was a bit more room in the seats too which was appreciated.
Once showered Robyn and I when for walk into the city. Anna was feeling a little travel sick and took a break. It is warm about 27 degrees C and full of tourists like us. There are lots of eating places inside and outside. The main feature of today’s walk was St Stephen’s Catheral. This massive ornate building is a feature of the city centre. The detail in the stone work and the construction is simply amazing.
At one side on street was a line of horse and carriages offering people tours of the city. The side affect of this was that the area had the occasional whiff of horse manure. We sorted out a SIM card for our phone which we are not sure will work in Switzerland, some cash and we has an icecream from one of the shops claiming to sell the worlds best. It was pretty good and very reasonably priced. And lastly we purchased some pastries to share over a cuppa with Anna.
After a break we headed back out for dinner and after an amount of procrastinating we settled on pizza at a place where you can buy by the slice. A slice was a quarter of a massive pizza. Probably about 45 - 60 cms in diameter.  Welcome to summer in the Europe sunset is 9pm and sunrise is about 5am. We were not going to make sunset today. We drew the curtains and when to bed about 7.30. Looking forward to sleeping lying down and catching up in sync so we can have a great day of exploring tomorrow.
Here we are wandering the street of Vienna.

Zoom in on the columns up the sides and see the detail. Never get that out of a rushing minders world. Note the house and carriages in the foreground

This is the pizza. We got 3 slices and 3 drinks for €13.  I did not think that was to bad.
Street scape with a good dose of tourists.
